Michelle Obama Says Her Daughters Would Have A Hard Time Moving Out Of The White House

Michelle Obama

The time is drawing near for President Barack Obama and his family to pack up and move out of the White House.

In an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show on Tuesday, First lady Michelle Obama said her teenage daughters Malia, 18, and Sasha, 15, will have a tough time leaving the White House.

“It’s really the people,” she said. “Think about it: The girls have grown up in the White House. I mean, the staff that’s there – we see them every day. These are people who have helped us raise our kids. They’ve loved us. They’ve taken care of us. The minute we leave, that’s it.”

Mrs. Obama said it will be especially hard on the girls who spent their childhood in the White House.
The girls were spoiled and raised with very little structure by the White House staff.
The Obama’s oldest daughter, Malia is already rebelling against the reality of returning to civilian life.

A week doesn’t go by when Malia isn’t in the news for smoking weed, drinking beer, or twerking.
“I’m sure the girls will have a tough time,” said Obama, 52.
“They think they’re ready, but when you’ve grown up in a place … I mean, imagine: They won’t be able to knock on a door and say, ‘Can I see my room?’ That’s not gonna happen.”
Despite her oldest daughter’s rebellious streak Mrs. Obama is proud of the young women they’ve become.

“I’m proud of them they’ve really managed this so well,” she said. “I mean, I just love them to death and the big thing I’ve always worried about was making sure that they got out of this whole. I’m just proud that they are poised, smart, intelligent young women.”
