UPDATE: Two Suspects In The California Shooting Confirmed Dead Following Police Shooting

suspects killed

2 suspects in the San Bernardino mass shooting are confirmed dead. The suspects, one male and one female, were killed in a fierce shootout with police about 4 hours after they killed 14 people and wounded 17 during a shooting at a San Bernardino clinic Wednesday morning.

The gun battle took place less than 2 miles from the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino. A private investigator told Fox News that she followed 3 police units that were in pursuit of a black SUV. The occupants of the SUV opened fire on the police units. The police returned fire and a fierce gun battle ensued. Windows in both vehicles were blown out when the shooting stopped.

“It sounded like Vietnam out here,” one witness told Fox News affiliate KABC.
One occupant of the SUV fled on foot. He was cut down in mid stride by police bullets. Video footage from KABC shows another suspect lying in the street in a pool of blood.
1 body pulled from the black SUV. A 3rd suspect, a female, was detained by police, according to multiple reports.

Armored vehicles surrounded the SUV about an hour after the shootout.
According to the LA Times, one of the shooters attended a holiday lunch for county health department employees at the Inland Regional Center earlier today. The suspect angrily left the meeting and returned with 2 accomplices who opened fire at about 11 a.m. Pacific Time.
The deceased shooter was identified as Syed Farook. The FBI is now classifying the shooting as a terroristic act.
