That's Why I'm Not Married - Prezzo

Diary: That's Why I'm Not Married - Prezzo

Suddenly Prezzo is not married and though he fought with Goldie, he confessed to having feelings for her.

During his Diary session, Prezzo told Biggie that he still felt responsible for Goldie but he had had it with her. This is the same Prezzo who bragged about his perfect family life complete with a wife and daughter back in Kenya when he dissed Barbz in Week 1.

"She's tripping for no reason. I gave it a try with her and it's all the same every day," Prezzo added. Meanwhile, Goldie told Biggie that she wished she could spend more time with Prezzo. "He goes out of his way to ignore me and it feels like I'm not worth much, Goldie cried.
She also said she wanted Prezzo to allow her to help him with rationing his cigarettes just so she could make his life better.

The other Housemates are convinced that Prezzo is playing Goldie and think she fell in love too hard too soon. "Prezzo is using Goldie for his own entertainment. They are having a fake relationship," Maneta said.

On the other hand, Zainab who has been flirting with Prezzo just to test him said she wanted to back off because she felt for Goldie.
"Prezzo is a bad boy and I don't know what's up with her (Goldie)," Zainab said.

However, Goldie has assured Big Brother that she'll try to find herself away from anyone's influence.

Will Goldie survive Upville without Prezzo?

Breaking News: Goodbye Angola!

Breaking News: Goodbye Angola!
Seydou and Esperanca are finally leaving StarGame for good.

After dilly-dallying for weeks, the Angolan duo eventually agreed to disagree and left the show. Though Seydou was not keen on leaving, Esperanca was adamant that she wanted to leave as soon as possible.

"I feel sorry for my partner and I wish things would be different. I'm stressed out, depressed and i am not going to put my health in danger," Esperanca explained.

An evidently furious Seydou expressed how unfair Esperanca is and threatened that "It will be chaos out there," as he walked out of the Diary Room.

Goldie Puts Blame On Communication......

Putting into consideration of what is happenning in the Goldezzo relationship, Goldie stressed that communication is important in all relationships.
During her conversation with Barbz in the garden, Goldie said that though things had turned out the way they had between her and Prezzo, she blamed it on communication and that Prezzo was partly to blame.
It was evident to all that what the Nigerian singer and Kenyan rapper had, was more than just friendship though Prezzo dropped the “we’re just friends” bomb at her.
However, Barbz told Goldie that Prezzo was worried about her and wanted to be sure she was fine before they could discuss their issue further and added that he looks to be caring to her regardless of how often they communicate.
Barbz told Goldie that Prezzo felt like she was drifting away, she added that she hadn’t noticed any bad blood between them and was shocked to see Goldie breaking down the previous night. It seems that for Barbz wasn’t watching the distance between the two before the scandal.
Where do you see this relationship’s destiny?

Son drags 96 year old father to court for taking second wife

Father says he is re-marrying to get somebody to cook and assist him in keeping the compound clean while Son says Dad should have discussed it with him before taking the wife!!!

A United States-based Nigerian, Emeka Mazie, on Wednesday dragged his 96-year-old father to court for insisting to re-marry after the demise of his wife eight years ago.
The suit with number HU/54/2012 filed before the Umuahia High Court 4, is presided over by Justice Agwu Kalu.
Counsel to the defendant, Ebere Orji, told the court that her client, Israel Mazie, (father of Emeka), had contracted a marriage with Ebere Ndubuka under the Marriage Act, maintaining that the plaintiff (only son of Israel) with his sisters was duly informed before the marriage was contracted.
On the other hand, the Counsel to the Plaintiff, Ann Uchendu, told the court that Israel and Ndubuka had yet to consummate their marriage traditionally, noting the defendants secretly obtained a marriage certificate from Bende Local Government Area of Abia State.
Israel told the court that his decision to re-marry was to get somebody to cook and assist him in keeping the compound clean.
“Since my wife died eight years ago, nobody cooks or assists in cleaning the compound for me. All my children live in America,” he claimed.
The plaintiff told the court that he received with shock the plans of his father to re-marry at his age. He said: “if my father must get another wife, he ought to discuss it with me.”
The Judge on listening to both counsel urged the parties to respect the views of each other, noting that at the plaintiff’s age he would never wish away his first son or the son abandon the father.
Kalu added that resorting to alternative dispute resolution became imperative as there was no serious dispute to judge on the case. He adjourned the matter to October 24 for report on settlement.

WORLD EXCLUSIVE: ‘How Don Jazzy betrayed me’ – D’banj

PHOTO STORY: UNN Undergraduate hangs self, leaves suicide note

Staff and students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) this morning woke up to the sorry sight of an undergraduate who had committed suicide within the school premises.
The student, a young man whose name was given simply as Buchi, was found dead at the new hockey pitch, close to the male hostels section, commonly referred to as “Franco Republic” with evident signs that he had hung himself with a wire (cable).

A source at the university said he was a 300-level student of the Department of Physics & Astronomy in the Faculty of Physical Sciences.

The source who preferred anonymity, also told CP that he had left a short suicide note on which he had written, “The controversy has ended” . He also added that the deceased reportedly had a CGPA of 4.6 and so it was probably not a case of academic frustration, as widely suspected.

No Going Back On Renaming Of UNILAG...Says Labaran Maku

With the Federal Government’s announcement yesterday that there would be no going back on the decision to rename University of Lagos as Moshood Abiola University, what’s next for the students and stakeholders of the institution?

The Federal Government through the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku has said that it will not revert its decision of renaming University of Lagos after Chief M.K.O Abiola. Despite protests from the students and staff of the institution, Maku said there would be no going back on the decision to rename University of Lagos as Moshood Abiola University in honour of the late winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.

Addressing State House correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja yesterday, the Minister said the President’s proclamation was in response to the outcry of concerned Nigerians who have been clamoring for the immortalization of late Abiola. He called on Nigerians not to allow the protests by some students to overshadow the significance of the president’s decision to immortalize Abiola.

“Yes sometimes government decisions get reactions from the populace, we do not as an administration see this as a disapproval. We just see it as a normal way in every democracy that when you make major decisions definitely sometimes you have public reaction but we should not allow the protest to overshadow the national significance of what Mr. President has done.”

He added that the decision has been long overdue and that today, Abiola can turn in his grave and say this nation for whom I made a supreme sacrifice for political development has recognized my contributions.

“It is our hope that reason will prevail and that the decision to honor one of our nations’s icons and heroes will be appreciated by all Nigerians including our youths and students who are the future leaders of this country” he said.

Nigerian rapper Panshak Zamani popularly known as Ice Prince has finally admitted to being a father.

The Chocolate City rapper disclosed this while speaking Vanessa Offiong of Nigerian newspaper Weekly Trust’s Weekend Magazine in an interview published over the weekend.

When asked what the experience was like about being a ‘new dad’ and how it was fitting that into his schedule, he responded: ‘Yes I am. I have a strong team around me and we are able to schedule our events properly. This gives me time to take care of all the things that I need to take care of’.

On March 1, 2012, 20-year-old former Houdegbe North American University undergraduate Bimbo Babatunde delivered a baby boy (since named Toluwalase) for Ice Prince.

The rapper had before now, repeatedly denied he’s the father of Bimbo’s child. The baby was born in March 1, 2012.

Ice Prince was recently nominated for the 2012 BET Awards in the ‘Best International Act: Africa’ category, alongside compatriot Wizkid.

Mildred Encourages Angola’s Esperanca To Leave The Big Brother House

Mildred and Keitta pounced on an emotional and very confused Esperanca, after she tearfully relayed to them that Seydou was insisting that they stay in the House until Sunday.
Could they have spotted a golden opportunity to ensure that the competition is eliminated (after all this is a game) or are they just genuinely being concerned friends? After her tearful exit from the Diary Room, Esperanca told Mildred and Keitta about what had transpired in the Diary Room. Mildred went to work encouraging Esperanca to put her foot down and demand that she and Seydou leave, as soon as possible.
“You should have stood firm and told Big Brother in the Diary Room, that you want to leave. It’s not too late for you to walk out and go have a party with your son,” Mildred said. The Ghanaian lass went a step further, telling Esperanca that Seydou is very selfish and fake. “Don’t let this guy break up your relationship back home. Your husband misses you. You have gained a lot of exposure already, so it’s okay if you go,” she said.
Keitta also threw in his two cents worth, encouraging Esperanca to ring the Diary Room bell and talk to Big Brother about her desire to leave, behind Seydou’s back. “Ring the bell and pour your heart out. If you are afraid I can talk to Big Brother for you,” he said. Throughout the conversation, Esperanca looked even more confused than before and cracked an occasional smile when the two Ghanaian’s spoke about her son or husband.
Loyalty is definitely out of the window when one half of a pair has absolutely no problem discussing their partner’s shortcomings with the competition.
Do you think Mildred and Keitta are genuinely concerned about their friend, or could this be a subtle strategy to ensure the competition is eliminated? Could these two be right about Seydou? Is he being selfish?

Roki tipped to win Big Brother Africa 7!!!!!!!

Recently evicted Big Brother Stargame housemate, Mampi Mukate, has tipped Roki to win this year’s reality show.
In an interview with NewsDay yesterday, the 25-year-old Zambian R&B singer, who was booted out of the show last Sunday, said she believed the
$300 000 prize will go to Roki or Sierra Leone’s Zainab because of the duo’s interesting characters.
“These two housemates thrilled me when I was in the house because of their characters. They are special cases because they are weird, mad, insane and beyond crazy,” said Mampi.
“They have entertaining issues and I think Africa will fall in love with their characters and would want to keep those two in the house till the game ends.”
Mampi, who had earlier on hinted that if she was not evicted she would take a voluntary exit, said she had been ready to leave the game.
“I got tired of playing the game. I loved the house, the set-up and all, but my heart was no longer there. I was relieved when I left the house because I was homesick, missing my fiancĂ© and all.”
Asked about her gossiping tendencies, which apparently contributed to her eviction, Mampi said she did not regret her actions.
“I don’t feel bad about gossiping about other housemates because there is nothing much to do in that house, so for me, talking about others was a source of entertainment. Everyone gossips in that house, but it’s just a pity that some housemates hated me because they did not want to be told the truth. If you don’t gossip in that house then you would probably be betraying someone, lying, flirting or studying other housemates,” she said.
Mampi acknowledged that Maneta Mazanhi was her favourite housemate.
“Maneta understood me more than all the other housemates in that house. I will definitely miss her and Roki. I know Maneta will manage to survive without me as she is a strong woman,” she said.
Asked about Prezzo (Kenya) and Goldie’s (Nigeria) romantic relationship, Mampi said Prezzo was probably doing it for television.
“Prezzo is probably playing along with Goldie for the game as he has a wife back home. I think Goldie is a girl who always wants to be in someone’s arms. It’s all up to Prezzo, they might end up genuinely falling in love because love comes when you least expect it.”
The Zambian superstar said Big Brother enhanced her fame and she will take the opportunity to boost her music career.
Meanwhile Maneta has confessed she was shocked that she was not evicted on Sunday evening.
“I thought I was going home on Sunday, but I was really shocked to see myself survive,” said Maneta.
She said she was humbled and very grateful that Africa had voted for her. Maneta survived eviction by a whisker as she got two country votes from Zimbabwe and Botswana to save her.
Maneta admitted she was nominated because of her alliance with Mampi.
“I know that I was nominated because of Mampi — people thought we were always scheming. Mampi was causing conflicts and dragging me along,” said Maneta.
Mampi’s eviction from the house seems to have changed Maneta’s attitude and strategy for the game.
She has toned down on gossiping and is now trying to create friends. She has been very close to Roki of late and the two seem to be getting along very well.

Who Does Prezzo Want To Be With?

I believe the question that has been on every one’s mind is that, Of the two Upville girls, Goldie and Zainab….who does Prezzo really want to hook up with. Well, yesterday night , the Kenyan rapper cleared the air once and for all.

From the talk with his unsettled buddy DKB, Prezzo truly told him how he feels about the Seirra Leone model. This was after he had made Goldie shade tears with his intense tongue when he described their relationship as just being good friends. The Upville hunk held no punches as he spewed profanities in his description of the young model as “dumb” and he then expressed his loathing for her provocative dress sense and flirty manner.

The rapper told DKB that he had engaged in a flirtation with Zainab but ther’s no possibility that he would like to pursue a relationship with such a woman as he prefers someone more conservative. “I can’t make this shorty my woman because her boobs are always displayed,” the Kenyan said . He also added that even if he were to leave Goldie he still would not hook up with Zainab because she‘s known to have kissed “the whole of Downville.”

Recently, Zainab made some snide comments about Goldie’s prudency in the past and teased Prezzo about the lack of intimacy in their relationship suggesting that he should rather be with a woman that could satisfy his needs as he is lacking alot in love.

However, during the boys’ confession session Prezzo commented on this saying, “I don’t mind Goldie not kissing or touching because she respects herself.” He praised Goldie for sticking to her values and called her “a true woman ” Hmmm… Does this preference have anything to do with the fact that Goldie always submits to his will and lets him get away with mistreating her while waiting on him hand and foot while Zainab is a feisty young woman that comes across as someone who stands up for herself?

As time went, later on in the evening a sweet-talking Prezzo went to Goldie to apologise for making her cry saying he was hurt by the way things are between them. This is hard to believe considering that just moments before he told DKB that he didn’t feel sorry about anything and that Goldie was a good actress and he then broke out in laughter and made fun of the Nigerian singer for crying to the extent of even vomitting. The Kenyan rapper seems to be so confused and perhaps wanting to confuse others too.

Do you think the Goldezzo relationship is going anywhere?

Life After BBA.....

Earlier yesterday evening, Downvillers took some good time exchanging ideas on how they think their lives will be after becoming famous almost in the whole Africa. They gathered in the bedroom and shared their opinions about the impact that their new found fame will have on their lives.
Keitta started by expressing his little worry about the fame he has got during the show. He talked about his fear of being judged and feelings of paranoia over the viewers expectations. ”Everywhere you go now you’re supposed to act in a civilised manner because you are a public figure,” Keita said. He also added that, peole will be expecting alot from them.
As Keita was still explaining, Keagan quickly dismissed his fears saying that he would not change his mischievous ways for other people. The South African housemate even threatened to beat up the paparazzi. He said that he’ll try to show every one that he is a real celeb.
Ofcourse yes, after the show all the participants become famous and use this opportunity to travel to variou countries as well as having alot of opportunities especially in the entertainment field.

Goldie Sheds Crocodile Tears..........

Finally love has made Goldie to shed tears. After a one on one conversation with Prezzo, Goldie found it unbearable and uncontrollable to shed tears. The singer’s frantic state of mind was spurred on by the rude awakening she got from Prezzo about the status of their relationship. The poor woman could not hide her sheer disbelief when the Kenyan coldly told her that hey were “just good friends.”
After thinking of how Prezzo described their relationship, she sat on Prezzo’s bed with tears streaming down her face repeating over and over again “just good friends, just good friends, while shaking her head.

The latest drama in the Goldezzo saga started over a disagreement about cigarettes which led to the Kenyan feeling disrespected. He sternly warned her not to mistake his kindness for weakness. Goldie begged repeatedly for his forgiveness but Prezzo remained unresponsive until she left for her bedroom.
Maneta heard Goldie’s cries and rushed into the girls’ room only to find a devastated Goldie crouched on the floor. After Maneta called out for help, Zainab came rushing in too and the two tried to help Goldie off the floor but Goldie told them off. She uttered “I am ok, I am ok, just get out of here,” while grasping for air and struggling to breath. The Upville ladies gave their two cents on their situation. Maneta and Barbz implied that Goldie had herself to blame for Prezzo being harsh to her because she ignored him for most the day yet he was used to her cooking. They said however much Prezzo was wrong, it was necessary for Goldie to calm down in order to settle the matter.

Goldie what with the crocodile tears na......

Prezzo And Zainab Get Closer......

It seems that Goldie and Prezzo‘s break up has a strong reason backing it up because it is clearly said that “No smoke without fire.” It has been completely different today from what we all knew and expected of the Goldezzo couple. The two yesterday kept a big distance between them as if there is something forcing it.

Unlike before, yesterday Goldie and Prezzo were distant, Prezzo was seen preparing himself breakfast which had never happened.

According to what has happened yesterday, someone can speculate that there could be a reason as to why these two broke up. Could it be Zainab tryng to keep Prezzo to herself or its Prezzo who enjoys Zainab’s company? I believe you too ask yourselves these questions because Zainab and Prezzo spent most of the day together.

If this seperation is real from the look of things. Well, let’s wait and see how part two of the drama unfolds.

Do you think that the Goldezzo relationship still has a chance to survive?

It’s Biggie’s Rules To Work.

Stubborn Downvillers were silenced down as Biggie gave them a stern warning. Keagan the Head of House was warned most as he was the leader of last week’s revolt. He not only stopped there, but also tried to tamper with Biggie’s cameras.

This is where the warning came from and Biggie told them (Keagan and Lee) that “Self expression is one thing but directly disobeying the rules, you not only put yourself in danger, but also your partner”. Remember that Big Brother has the right to disqualify any Housemates who mibehaves or breaks the rules. Recently when Junia and Jessica during their diary room session asked Biggie why he punishes the Housemates, Biggie told them that,”This is Big Brother’s House and it’s only Big Bother’s rules to work, whoever breaks them, they have to be punished,” Biggie added.

In Downville, Housemates enter as a team, so if one disobeys the rules and gets disqualified, the partner too has to follow suit. This explains why Lee could be in trouble if Keagan tries to misbehave.

Do you think Big Brother punishes Downvillers so often?

Baba Suwe Truly Ingested Hard Drugs—NDLEA Boss Finally Opens Up

In October 2011, the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) got a worldwide coverage and attention with Baba Suwe’s alleged drug ingestion. On November 4, he was finally released from the NDLEA’s custody when the agency could not find any drug on him not after he had spent about 21 days with them.

Baba Suwe’s NDLEA brouhaha became blown up due to his status as a top Nollywood actor.

Seven months after the world stage drama, the Commander of NDLEA, at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, Mr. Hamza Umar has finally opened on the saga that almost put its agency’s credibility into the mud.

In an interview, Umar said, ”this machine you are seeing here is 99.9 percent accurate. It has never said this man has this and we find contrary. You said apart from, I know you are going into Baba-Suwe’s matter.”

Clarifying the Baba Suwe’s unique case, he said further, “let me clarify myself. You see, before his arrest, I do not know who Baba-Suwe is. My binding factor with Baba-Suwe is that machine.

“He was travelling with a group of friends and the machine picked him and said he had drugs concealed in him. When the matter was becoming controversial, I asked if there is a good screening centre here in Lagos.

“I was told of the University of Lagos teaching hospital and I asked that they should take him there. I did so to have an independent opinion from a professional. He was taken there and the Chief Radiologist said look, I have to get my Consultant. He and the Consultant examined, tested and screened him with their machines and gave me the report in writing.

“Our medical team collected the written report and brought to me. The hospital said in the report that Baba-Suwe had drugs concealed in his stomach. In the report, they said they analyzed him from the head, to the body and down to the legs and concluded that his stomach is invested with particles that are consistent with narcotics.

“But they said in the report that they cannot specify the drugs by name. They suggested that it could only be specified by laboratories. Mind you, I am not an expert in that field. I am only an officer of the NDLEA.

“If you were in my shoes will you release that man? I did not stop at that anyway, I insisted I wanted another report from another group of experts. I was told that there was another well-equipped place that they call Me-Cure here in Lagos. I said take him there also. I referred him there and they gave me the same result,”
the NDLEA boss concluded.

The anti-drug agency has been ordered by the court to pay the sum of 25 million naira to Baba for violation of his rights. This order is being appealed at the Appeal Court.

Relationship Talk.....: Honey, Let’s Get Married!!! 6 Men Tell Why They Took The Bold Step

The buzz and excitement that surrounds weddings can be quite infectious and women tend to go overboard at the idea or prospect of a wedding. Marriages however, are no mean feat. They require a certain amount of dedication and commitment and this is probably why most guys are a little more less enthusiastic when it comes to the whole wedding thing. They tend to have a more overall sense of restraint when it comes to these matters.
BN decided to take a closer look at guys who took this huge step and why they did. They talked about their courtship and why they took the decision to spend the rest of their lives with their wives and I got to understand that people get married for very different reasons. We had fun during the interviews and to these awesome guys, I say thank you for sharing your stories.
Babajide & Damilola Familusi

FAMILUSI BABAJIDE, Fashion and Lifestyle Enterpreneur/Publisher FAB Magazine has been married for 3 years.
He dated his wife for 17 months and described the period as “an amazing time getting to know each other as we had opted to bare it all to each other. A mistake intending couples make in this time is that they do not take the time to ask the right questions in a bid to get more insight into the background and experiences of the other party.”
Did you know from the start that you were going to marry her? I did not know but my intention was very clear from the very first day. ‘I am not dating for the fun of it. I am trying to find my wife in you’.
I knew she was the one because of a major revelation into her person that I cannot disclose here but understanding my personality and hers and how they would work amazingly well together was key.
Why did you get married? I got married because I totally believe in God’s word that says in Genesis that ‘it is not good for man to be alone.’ I knew that I needed a partner that I would share my joys, travails, successes with. One who would adopt my vision as hers and be my strength and support in my weak areas.
What is the difference between your life as a bachelor and as a married man? The fact that you have an additional being to care for and love unconditionally totally changes your activities as family and time spent with family becomes increasingly important.
Deji & Ese Falae

Deji Falae, a lawyer, politician and public officer in the service of the Ondo State Government has been married for 13 years
How did you meet your wife?
My wife and I were introduced by a mutual friend while she was an undergraduate in the University of Lagos in 1993 and I was a Youth Corper.
When did you know she was The ONE?
After the first date I was pretty sure I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her even though she wasn’t so sure about my intentions. She was very beautiful and had a comfortable “girl next door” appeal that I couldn’t resist.
Why did you get married?
Because I was and still am in love with her and everyone should have a companion to share the odyssey of life with.
What has changed for you since you got married?
Many things have changed, for one I’ve learnt to think in plural terms rather than singular which helps me to focus on the important things in life and for another I’ve learnt patience.
Tell us one thing you discovered since you got married that you wish someone had told you before now?
That’s a difficult one cos there are many things that one wishes one knew before getting married but I guess one that stands out is that women analyse situations differently from men, they tend to be more emotional and most men had to learn this from experience.
Where would you like to be stuck with alone with your wife?
Many places I guess but a picturesque island like Tahiti would be nice.
Taiwo & Chiz Peters

Taiwo Peters is a Lagos based lawyer who is a father of two has been married for 5 yrs.
How did you meet your wife?
Chiz and I were introduced at a mutual friend’s get together in July 2003. Our friend was going through a match-making phase and decided she would pair up her different friends. I don’t usually go for such things but I decided to humour her nonetheless. I was actually supposed to meet another friend of hers but she never showed, likewise for Chiz (thank God!). So, we were both on the “waiting table” and we started talking and before you knew it, it was time for everyone to go. Because of how we met and how stubborn I could be, I immediately told myself that I wasn’t going to follow it up but as soon as I got home, I found myself sending a text message to make sure she was okay (or so I told myself).
When did you know she was The ONE?
The truth is that Chiz struck a chord with me from day one but I knew she was “the one” precisely two weeks after we started dating on the 12th of January, 2004. I actually sent her a text telling her how I felt (I told her I loved her) and she was kind enough not to laugh in my face when next we saw. Needless to say, she put that bold statement to the test till I earned her trust and confidence.
Why did you get married?
I got married because quite frankly I was sick and tired of dropping her back home at her parent’s house. Whenever it was time for her to go home, we would always quarrel (which was a sneaky way to get more time with her; half bread and all that) and she would always end up getting home late. But more than that, I knew 100 per cent that I could never ever find someone as loving, funny, intelligent, hard-working, stylish, classy, sexy, God-fearing (to name just a few of her qualities) if I tried. In addition, she is as real as they come and does not have one pretentious bone in her body. Finally, I knew how much I needed her in my life. I don’t need many people in my life outside my family and close friends and I wasn’t particularly looking to add to my list, but knew I needed this lady.
What has changed for you since you got married?
Well, she doesn’t go home anymore for a start! So that is great (especially when we argue!). Apart from that nothing else has really changed. I knew two weeks after we started dating that I would spend the rest of my life with her (if she would have me) and I treated her like my wife in every ramification. We dated for four years before we got married, so there was little that could change apart from the “license” from God to “do and undo”. We have been blessed with two children so we are grateful to God that we have responsibly put that license to good use.
Tell us one thing you discovered since you got married that you wish someone had told you before now?
I went into marriage with my eyes wide open and with zero childish notions so I cannot say I have been surprised or had a “why didn’t anyone tell me” moment. No matter what, I will always love her and I was fully aware that there would be tough times to go with the good times. We have had our share of both but because we are friends first we always find a way through with God as our foundation.
Where would you like to be stuck with alone with your wife?
The location wouldn’t matter and that’s the God honest truth! We have a blast at home in front of the tv just as well as when we are on vacation abroad. So long as we are together, we would always make the most of where we are. We are partial to the cold though so anywhere with a cool temperature would be excellent.
Akingbemi & Temitope akiode

AKINGBEMI AKIODE, Sales Engineer, Swagelok Nigeria Limited has been married for 9 months.
He dated his wife for 7 years and described the courtship as “a period of knowing ourselves, marked with a lot of ups and downs, fighting and settlements, cracks and amendments, almost calling it quit but we made our way around the situation.”
Did you know from the start that you were going to marry her?
I knew from the start that I wanted to marry her that was the reason for approaching her in the first place, but I wasn’t sure if I will at the end because I didn’t know her too well as to know if she meets my criteria for a wife. This was settled during our courtship period.
Why did you get married? I got married for so many reasons but I will state just a few of them. I knew I had come of age and was ready to move on to the next phase of my life. I knew I love the woman I found because she met my requirements for what I call a wife material. I knew I will amount to a wicked person if I didn’t marry her at the time I did because she was not all together a young lady. I knew I needed a family of my own.
What is the difference between your life as a bachelor and as a married man? I now have someone to account to on how I spent my salary, how my day at work was, how we would raise our children and build our home. I don’t have to worry about what to eat since I now have a good cook as a wife.

I actually met here at a party of a friend for the first time but we did not get together till a few years later but was crushing on her from the very first day
When did you know she was The ONE?
There was not a day or minute when it happened but a gradual growing awareness of contentment and happiness. Then it just became known that this is it for me.
Why did you get married?
I am a traditional person and believe in the stable family unit and also decided to show my commitment to her by taking the vows
What has changed for you since you got married?
Not being able to go out with the guys all night anymore! Hahahaha
Jokes apart I guess it made me grow up in some aspects and become more responsible
Tell us one thing you discovered since you got married that you wish someone had told you before now?
That I am not supposed to answer honestly to questions like “how do I look in this?
Where would you like to be stuck with alone with your wife?

TAIWO ADELEKE, Senior Regional Correspondent, NN24 TV has been married for 2 years.
He dated his wife for one year and described his courtship period as “a time when we got to know each other. We talked on the phone all though, I was in Abuja and she was in Adamawa.”
How did you meet your wife?
I met my wife at my friend’s younger sister’s wedding and that was the period I was really praying to God for a life partner.
When did you know she was The ONE? I knew my meeting with her was God’s plan. She was the first and only girl I took home and my parents were so glad to see her and received her with great love.
Why did you get married? I got married because it was the right time, because there was this undying love that surrounds us as a couple. I got married to my ever smiling , gentle, hardworking, mind blowing and God fearing wife, Gloria “Arike” mi because I love her so much and she love me likewise.
What has changed for you since you got married? I have learnt how to love more and show concern for other people’s weaknesses. As a married man, I learn more lessons in taking up challenges no matter how hard the situation may be.
Tell us one thing you discovered since you got married that you wish someone had told you before now? One thing I discovered since I got married is that one must be prepared at all times to handle any difficult challenges that comes with marraige because marraige is not just a bed of roses it is a period that our maturity, patience, trust, faith, love and hardwork are put to test at all times to handle. Union and prayer solve the ones that are beyond our capacity.
Where would you like to be stuck with alone with your wife? I want to get stuck with my wife at a lovely Island in Ghana or South Africa.

Five killed in Edo road accident.....

NO fewer than five persons, on Saturday, lost their lives in a multiple road accident, near Okpella, on the Benin-Auchi- Okene highway in Edo State.
Similarly, three persons were killed in separate incidents in Warri, Delta State, among them, the owner of a popular drinking joint near Sedco Junction in Udu area, who was killed by suspected cultists.
On the Benin-Auchi- Okene highway auto crash, it was gathered that the accident, involving four vehicles, occurred in the early hours of Saturday, as motorists from the Abuja and Benin end of the highway were left stranded for several hours due to gridlock caused by the accident.
Those who lost their lives in the accident included an apprentice, the driver and owner of goods in one of the articulated vehicles and two others.
Head of operation of the Auchi Unit of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Mr. Abosi Ikechulwu, who confirmed the accident, said an articulated vehicle belonging to Dangote Group, lost control and rammed into another stationary articulated vehicle.
The other articulated vehicle which belongs to Danyok Nigeria Limited, was said to have tumbled as a resulted of the previous night’s down pour.
A J-5 bus and two other lorries loaded with cattle and goats were said to have collided and crashed into the Dangote and the Danyok articulated vehicles.
In the Warri cultists attack, it was gathered that the cultists, allegedly laid siege to Ovwian community for over one month resulting in daily cult killings.
A 27-year old man, identified as Lucky Esekem, was, meanwhile, crushed to death by a truck at the Udu Expressway Junction by Ovwian, while another unidentified youth was shot on Gbiaye Street by suspected gunmen.
Esekem, a vulcaniser, was killed while riding on his motorbike to his house at Ujevwu as a result of alleged brake failure from the speeding truck.
The death of the youth, who hailed from Olomoro, in Isoko South Local Government Area, caused serious traffic jam on the busy DSC Expressway as Ovwian vigilante groups battled to clear the road.

Big Brother Stargame: Mampi’s Thunder Thighs Dance Their Way Home

Twenty-five-year-old Zambian R&B singer, Mampi became the first celebrity housemate to be evicted from the Upville house on Sunday.
After forming a close bond with Zimbabwe’s Maneta, the pair were nominated by some of their fellow housemates for gossiping too much. After spending three weeks in the house, Mampi will probably be best remembered for her signature style of dancing, dubbed ‘thunder thighs’.

Here goes her recent interview:

What was the best thing about the Upville house?

Getting to meet different people from different places and sharing our different cultures. It was lots of fun getting to know all the different housemates, living with them and exchanging our cultural values.

And the worst thing?

It was definitely challenging and not as easy as it seems. Watching the show from home is very different from actually doing it and being part of it. It’s a psychological and mental game, not a physical one. Having cameras on you 24/7 is so annoying, especially when you want to pick your nose, or other little habits that you don’t want people to see. You can’t run or hide in the house.

What did you learn about yourself through the experience?

Nothing really, apart from the fact that I learned I can be a bit of a bully. It’s fun to bully people sometimes. Not everyone, just some people in the house.

Who did you most dislike and why?

Goldie. I believe she was very plastic and she was pretending too, too, too much. I think she’s trying too hard to be sweet. I don’t think she’s really a sweet person. When you look in her eyes you can see a lot of anger there. I think she’s the biggest pretender in the house.

Do you think you and Maneta’s gossiping may have played a role your nomination and eviction?

Yes, but at the end of the day, it’s a game. A game of gossip, hatred, backstabbing and betrayal. You choose which one you do. They will keep evicting people for different reasons, maybe some lie and some are unpredictable. It’s the name of the game. I don’t look at it as gossiping. I found someone I could confide in, it only looked bad on TV but every single person loves gossiping and they will still continue to talk about each other. It’s fun. Being out of the house, I am still saying the same thing. So in the house it is considered gossip, but on the outside it’s an interview. It’s just my opinion anyway.

Do you feel you made the right decision, entering the house?

Everything happens for a reason and out of every negative, you can make a positive. You mould yourself. I don’t think entering the house was a bad idea at all. I had so much fun and I think it was the right time for me to go out. Mentally I felt ready to go. I realised at some point that it was not easy at all so, all in all I think everything worked out the way it should have. The timing was perfect.

We loved your dance moves, where did you learn to move like that?

(Laughs) I don’t know! I love to dance and never expected people to copy my ‘thunder thighs’. That’s my signature back home, I am actually better known for dancing than for singing.
It’s something that amuses people. Funnily enough, I only discovered my talent for dancing at 17. I guess it’s just something I was born with.

What did you think of our Lady May?

I really liked her so much. She’s actually the first person I related to when I got into the house but after a while I felt she changed. Perhaps it was when I got closer to Maneta, maybe she felt abandoned. I was disappointed that she nominated me but I don’t blame her, it’s the nature of the game. I tend to think that people nominate those they are threatened or irritated by. I don’t think I irritated her because we never argued or had any differences. So I have to think that I was perhaps a threat to her. We share vocal skills and I would love to do a ‘collabo’ with her, more than anyone else in the house.

Future plans?

I plan to get back to work and continue recording except this time I want to make an international album. I am known in Zambia and now it is time to cross borders and take my music to the rest of Africa. I hope to visit Namibia soon.
