Popular show host and comedian Teju Babyface and Lagos-based model Tobi Banjoko will on Saturday, September 1, 2012 be saying the special words ‘I do’.
Teju romantically proposed to Banjoko early this year on Valentine’s Day.
The couple began dating a while ago, but have known each other a very long time, according to sources close to the couple.
Tobi was also present at Teju’s late father’s wake keep in Lagos and burial in Oyo State and was reportedly quite active in the burial activities.
‘Yes it’s true. I feel excited’, Banjoko, who was the winner of the Lagos Carnival beauty pageant in 2010, ‘He likes what I do, I like what he does, and we understand ourselves perfectly’.
Tobi, an undergraduate at Lagos State University, also represented Ondo State at the 2011 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) beauty pageant, where she emerged as Miss Photogenic.
It was gathered that Teju popped the big question a few months ago, on Valentine’s Day, just a few hours before 2face Idibia proposed to his long time love Annie Macauley.
A source close to the couple says Teju called Tobi on Valentine’s Day to meet him at the Southern Sun hotel, Ikoyi Lagos. As Tobi made her way into one of the rooms, she was surprised to see that Teju had decorated it with red roses; he then popped the big question, and of course she said yes.
When Teju was asked about this, he was quite reluctant to divulge any information. He only said ‘God dey, patience is a virtue’.
