At yesterday’s hearing, the court ordered the Appellant (NDLEA) to file its reply brief on points of law within 14 days after Court of Appeal had granted an application filed by counsel Barr. Bamidele Aturu, counsel to Baba Suwe, for extension of time within which to file his Respondent brief.
The court then adjourned the case to October 18, 2012 for the hearing of the substantive appeal.
On October 12, 2012, Baba Suwe was arrested at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos after he was suspected to have some substances believed to be hard drugs.
His counsel filed for the violation of his human rights after he had been in the agency’s custody for 21days without trial or any drugs found in him.
