Fashion Trend: Tips On Colour Blocking......

Colour combinations, fashion trends,Colour Blocking

Trends!!! People follow trends without understanding the basics on them; Simply put how to make proper fashion statements while flowing with what’s in vogue. The fashion trend “colour blocking” is what’s making waves right now especially with the available jelly sandals which has multiple colours on them. So ladies tend to include all the colours on the sandals into their outfit without blending properly and therefore end up looking like peacocks.

The key word for blocking is blending and here are a few tips to help achieve an admirable outfit:

1: Skin tone: Always choose colours that accentuate your skin tone. These should be colours that bring out your beauty and give off a glow to your skin. To know this, try wearing colours or just draping them around your shoulders and then look in the mirror to see which makes you look your best.

2. Match: Choose colours that complement each other i.e. colours that go well with each other. It shouldn’t be caught dead wearing colours that are shouting “Hey! Can you see me? I am that rainbow girl”. When colours don’t match, you give off an “I am in your face” look which wards off the boys and then the girls look at you with eyes wide open with jaws dropping like Hunh?.

3. Basics: Always tone down bright colours with basics (the Browns, Blacks, and nudes). You can tune down an elaborate shouty outfit with as simple as a brown belt, a black bag a black pant, black or brown camisole or even a dark blue (Blue -black)belt or shoe. Dark cocktail rings and necklaces can help.

4. Pieces: Your accessories can also be part of your colour combination. An orange dress with a pink and black sandal, a slim brown belt to accent your waistline, black bag and a pair of matching earrings and necklace which could be leaf or bottled green would look better than an orange top, a pink skirt, purple sandals, orange and purple bag (if there are any). This would say signboard.

5. Make-up: Finally, when wearing bright colours, NEVER wear odd all colours on your outfit on your face. In fact, keep it close to natural just to give your face an extra lift. Or you can go smoky eyed. You are free to spot a bright lipstick (red).
